Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1 cup half-and-half cream
- 3 ounces cream cheese
- 12 ounces white cheddar cheese, grated
- 1/2 cup red bell pepper, diced
- 2 tablespoon shallots, diced
- 6 ounces crab meat
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
- Salt, to taste (optional)
- 2 packages Kraft Homestyle Four Cheese Macaroni and Cheese
Preparation
- Prepare Kraft mac and cheese by following the package instructions, but cook pasta only half the cooking time.
- In a saucepan, slowly heat the cream until hot, but not boiling.
- In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour, and stir constantly for several minutes. Combine the heated cream and continue stirring until sauce is thickened.
